True Kindness - a Heart for Strays

Every now and then you come across amazing stories of kindness and love. Human to human, kindness is a beautiful thing and I truly love this - it touches my heart when compassion becomes visual.

However, it is kindness to animals who have been abandoned, treated cruelly, or abused that renders me speechless... In this piece I don't intend to focus on the plight of these animals and the various causes out there that do wonderful work bringing about change, educating people and making a difference to the lives of these furry creatures.  I feel there is a lot of information and activity around and I support and salute those whose passionate endeavours strategically make a difference for strays and/or abandoned animals that find themselves in such sad circumstances

I love this quote:

“Them as can do, has to do for them as can't. And someone has to speak up for them as has no voices.”
― Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men

Instead I thought I would take the time today to salute those who DO something about what they see around them on an individual basis.  Celebrating those who try to make a difference - even if it is in a limited capacity, using what they have to make a difference where they can.

One such example came to my attention as a result of me being engaged to paint a custom pet portrait painting of what became fondly referred to a the 'Fiji Dogs' pet portrait project.  These two pups - Amla and Juniper. - have an amazing story... It is one of kindness that love and compassion, and it really warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes to witness something so beautiful.

Please hop across to my YouTube Channel using this link, and hear the story of Amla and Juniper in more detail. In this video I share the story of compassion, action, kindness and heart... We tend to associate animal rescue with injured wild life - but in this case, we see abandoned street dogs being welcomed into a family home, and given a new life, so now they are getting up to all sorts of mischief typical of young pups - living life free of worry and being loved.  Here is a summary of their story covered on my Facebook and Instagram pages as a post - in case you missed it :-)

I am sharing their story with you to honour those who do what they can to make a difference to the lives of those who cannot stand up for themselves.

If you have experienced a similar situation, and would like to share your story, or know of someone who has this amazing kind heart towards abandoned pets, please feel free to share -  I would love to hear about it.

Best regards
